Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10-gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. The Process
This technique is safely performed using a specialized surgical instrument and disposable blades designed specifically for dermaplaning. Once the skin is properly prepped, the technician holds the skin taut and gently scrapes the skin with the blade held at a 45-degree angle. This removes both the vellus hair and the top layer of dead skin cells.
